Age 8
His mother Emily Chepkurui is mentally challenged and were found sleeping in the streets of Bomet town (this has been for several days). They have been depending on Good Samaritans for food. Her home is very far from Bomet town but she traveled all the way on foot to Bomet town without the awareness of her family members. The Good Samaritans decided to take the mother and the baby to Tenwek Hospital for medication because they were at risk. The mother was examined and was found to be HIV positive and needs medication. Her home was traced and was found to be in Nakuru County. Emily’s mother was informed and she came with the help of another relative to take Emily for treatment in Nakuru Hospital. The grandmother who was supposed to take care of the child is old and very poor. Asante Kipkorir has one sister and three brothers but they were shared among the relatives. Through the nurses and the social worker of Tenwek Hospital, the baby was brought to us after he was examined to be in good health.
