Fred’s mother was 33 years old. She became pregnant with Fred and his twin sister, Joan, when she was raped. She gave birth to them in the hospital with normal delivery. She was under medication but she was not responding to treatment and would not breastfeed the babies. She is coming from a family of 7people. Her father, mother, the other 2 girls, and one boy are also of unsound mind. The grandmother who is supposed to take care of the twins is known to be an alcoholic. The family is completely unable to take care of Fred and his sister. Through the chief medical superintendent, the medical social worker and the children’s officer, the babies were brought to Mogogosiek Baby Home.
