The mother of Emmanuel Kiplangat died after delivery. She had Pneumonia and anemia during her pregnancy.  After delivery, she was discharged from the hospital but she was weak. She stayed at home for some days and was taken back because her health was deteriorating. She was admitted to the hospital but after one week she passed away. The grandmother who was supposed to take care of the baby is old and poor and therefore not able to care for the baby. The father also is very poor and is taking care of an older child who is three years old and depends on casual work. Through the chief, village elder, and the church the child was brought to us.
