Both of Mercy’s parents have intellectual disabilities and are not equipped to care for her. After her mother gave birth at home, a good Samaritan took Mercy and her mother to the hospital to make sure they were both healthy. After they were home, Mercy’s mother would leave her all day near a bar without feeding her. This was reported to the authorities who realized the desperate situation of the parents and Mercy was rescued to the
baby home.
